rockin' the antenna

if if you've visited our home we've been rocking the tv antenna—yes, that's right we DON'T HAVE CABLE. when we first moved in, we were just going to try it out for a while because we had a bad experience with our cable company in the past. it's been over a year and we barely notice or are bothered that we don't have 250+ channels to scroll through.

mark and i both work during the day so really our tv time is limited from 6-10 pm. we couldn't jusify paying $100 or more for just a few hours a week so we decided to try the antenna out. mark went out to the lovely Target and picked out a $40 (at the time) Philips TV Antenna. it took a few mins and and viola! we had tv.

and i know what you're thinking, omg my husband can't live with out ESPN or I can't live without my Bravo shows... but guess what you can! it's been an adjustment but we don't don't care too much for TV and all the local channels have our favorites like how i met your mother, modern family, cougar town, castle, the vampire diaries. one more + HD is FREE! mark watches all his Bears, Cubs, Blackhawks games in clear picture!

another great one yet dorky we'll admit and are the travel and cooking shows on public access. channel 11-1, 11-2 and 11-3 always have something interesting an enjoyable on!

we figure our 40$ investment was well worth it and so far has cost us about $2.50 a month! that price will keep going down too. if you're looking to save some money try an antenna for a while... trust us you won't be missing much!
