15 weeks: my jeans still fit!

ok, so my jeans still fit... barely. things are getting a bit tight, but it's not to the point that I can't stand it. luckily gap had their "gap give and get" event this week, which gave me the opportunity to build up my maternity wardrobe. I got a whole bunch of fun stuff and can't wait to feel the comfort of full-panel jeans... sexy. I love that I had a great excuse to shop for new clothes— i just have to go through and donate a whole bunch that falls in the XS category.

I had another baby check-up this week on st. patty's day. I didn't gain any weight from last month's appointment, so my doc suggested i try to gain a 1/2-pound a week. I'm still down 2 lbs from my pre-preg weight and not really sure if I could eat anymore than I already am. I will admit I'm eating a lot healthier—adding more fresh fruit and veggies to my diet—so that may be keeping my weight down right now. eating a bunch junk food is really not desirable which i'm sure will change. :) I guess the key to putting on weight during pregnancy is to do it slowly and controlled—hopefully i stay on track!

they also took three more vials of blood. ugh. for those of you that know me well, I'm a gigantic baby when it comes to needles. it really doesn't hurt all that bad, I'm just really uncomfotable when it's happening or light-headed and need to get over it. I'm up to six vials now and i've been poked at every appointment now. I fainted once a couple years ago with my mom in the room and she used to laugh at me and say I don't know what you're going to do when you're pregnant! I've survived thus far mom! :) you'd be proud! I'll leave my fear of the epidural to a later post :)

I'll have another check up in three weeks and my 20-week (ultrasound) is may 2nd! can't wait to find out what our lil baby will be!

cravings: still fresh fruit esp. honey crisp apples and pineapple, california rolls and fish tacos
aversions: coffee and beer are now tolerable, strong lotion/perfume/cologne still makes me queasy, thick greek yogurt grosses me out.

what's baby up to?
continuing the march towards normal proportions, baby's legs now out measure the arms. and, finally, all four limbs have functional joints. our fetus is squirming and wiggling like crazy down in the womb, though I still can't feel the movements.

  1. I lost weight too at first - giving up not-so-healthy food really does make a difference! And being constantly nauseous helps, too!

I don't know if you'll eventually like junk food....my baby makes me SO sick if I eat jonk food or anything fried. Totally spoiled organic-only fetus! :)

Don't donate those too-small clothes! Get some belly bands (also known as Bella bands)! They saved my life before I found a great resale shop that had maternity clothes.

So beer is now tolerable, huh? I'm assuming you mean the smell....... :)

  2. haha :) yeah just the smell of beer. it would make me sick when mark would drink it next to me!

yeah, organic is great—we try to buy that mostly :) or else conventional will work for me too, certain things though of course. ever since we watched food inc i refuse to buy anything but organic meat for sure, that program opened my eyes and i will not support that type of treatment to not only animals but farmers too!

so thankful i crave the good things right now! :)
