happy valentines day

valentine's day. mark loves this day. he loves it so much that he reminds me 100x the week before how much it's a just hallmark holiday and how stupid it is that people go crazy about it.

i'm not a fanatic about this day, but it's fun none the less. of course i'm a girl, what girl doesn't like a day that is all about love? I of course agree with mark that it's too commercialized and I don't like how people get sucked in to buying all this random stuff. my thoughts about valentine's is that you just have to acknowledge it in someway and do something a bit out of the ordinary and that will make me happy. I don't care for fancy expensive dinners or jewelry because to me it's just a waste of money.

I do like flowers though :) not like crazy gigantor bouquets—because let's get real they're going to die in a week. mark could just go to jewel and get the budget buy ones for all i care! but mr. sneaky pants had my flowers delivered on sunday when we were both home—i guess he wanted to be there when i got them. :) they're beautiful and i was surprised so i loved it.


now what do you get for the guy? i struggle with romantic gifts for mark all the time. cologne? he's got that. boxers? plenty. chocolates? yeah right, i'll end up eating them all and gain 5 lbs too. so instead i just decided to bake mark heart-shaped brownies. yeah they weren't from scratch but baking after a long day at work has to count for something! :) haha.


overall, we don't need a holiday to appreciate the love we have for each other, but when the day comes around it's hard to just ignore it.
